Dowagers Cottage sits in the grounds of The
Old Rectory, the Georgian home of Chris, Sally & James
Entwistle and their Birman cats Rolo and Milli, and Norwich's
only AA Top 200 / Red Star hotel. The Cottage looks onto the
sun terrace and outdoor swimming pool (usually open Easter
to September).

Ground Floor: compact, fitted kitchen with gas cooker
and grill, microwave and refrigerator; cosy lounge/dining
room with patio doors opening onto private terrace, gas fire,
remote control widescreen DVD TV with digital channels and dial up and wireless broadband internet access;
cloakroom.
First Floor: double bedroom with hairdryer and clock radio,
looking out over the Yare valley; fully tiled bathroom with
bath (shower over), washbasin and WC. The bed is made up with
fine cotton bed linen and a feather and down duvet (sheets
& blankets and /or non-feather pillows available on request).

Locality
From this delightful base on the eastern outskirts
of Norwich, you are within easy reach of the city centre (2¸
miles), the Norfolk Broads National Park, numerous historic
sites and buildings, nature reserves, golf courses and leisure
facilities and miles of coastline renowned for clean, sandy
beaches, wildlife and fresh seafood.
A short distance across the road is a lovely riverside walk
where you often see herons, several species of geese and other
waterfowl as well as the occasional kingfisher. In springtime
nesting swans and grebes can also be seen. In the garden, we
enjoy many nesting and visiting birds including wrens, greenfinches,
song thrushes and the occasional woodpecker as well as the more
usual blackbirds, robins and blue and great tits.

Booking
To book your stay at The Dowagers Cottage please
check our availability chart, then email your request or telephone
us to provisionally reserve your chosen week. We will hold
your reservation for seven days to enable you to complete
and return your booking form together with your deposit /
prepayment; once we have received these we will confirm your
booking in writing.
